These animations were done in Autodesk Maya, and arranged in reverse chronological order of production. Through the three months, I learned to implement the 12 principles of animation in more and more complex rigs, and developed the skill to illustrate the personality of a rig by its actions.

Challenges & Reflections

Autodesk Maya is a really robust and professional software that has great capability in animation, which on the other hand makes it difficult to learn and induced a lot of frustration. For Maya, I would say, practice makes perfect. Throughout the making process, I could feel my operation went smoother, whereas I continuously discover new unknown knowledge and explore new functions. I might not have opportunity to explore animation in Maya in the future, but this basic knowledge helped my animation process in AfterEffects and Unity, as well as the 3D modeling software Fusion 360.
